On Saturday September 21, 2013, at approximately 11:00 PM Deputy Dalton Tyner was dispatched to #24 Calfneck Road concerning a vicious dog report. Upon arrival Deputy Tyner met with James Belk, the complainant. Deputy Tyner stated a brown pit bull belonging to Anthony Boyette Sr. had the complainants black mixed breed by the throat and was causing severe damage to the complainant’s dog. Deputy Tyner tried spraying them with O.C. Spray (pepper spray), the dogs kept fighting and then Deputy Tyner tried spraying them with a water hose, that also had no effect. Finally the pit bull let go of the other dogs neck. At this time the pit bull acted aggressive and growled at Deputy Tyner at which time he shot and killed the pit bull with his Departmental issued shotgun. The deceased pit bull was turned over to its owner Mr. Boyette.
