Sheriff Scott Montgomery reports that on November 18, 2013 Inv. John Nichols responded to 102 Southview Lane on Wye Mountain in reference to a woman (Jacklyn Murphy, 23 of Little Rock) trying to make entry to her parents residence after they told her not to.  Murphy had stolen a vehicle from Little Rock and drove it to her parents house on Southview Lane.  Murphy resisted arrest and tried to punch Inv. Nichols, after a brief scuffle Murphy was taken in custody without further incident.  Inv. Nichols was assisted by Inv. Terry Payne and U.S. Forestry Officer Hugh Davis.


Murphy has been charged with Theft by Receiving and Resisting Arrest and is being held in the Perry County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 cash or professional bond.
