Sheriff Montgomery reports that on December 6, 2013 Chief Deputy Ray Byrd and Investigator Terry Payne interviewed a Juvenile suspect, with his dad present, during the interview the Juvenile confessed that he and two others had broken into the store and stole the items listed in a previous report from Nov. 30th. The Juveniles names are not being released because they are Juveniles, one of the suspects is an adult and his information will be released at a later date.
Store owner Terri Byrd stated that the day before her store was burglarized, three young men were hanging out at her store for a rather lengthy time and that one of the boys kept admiring a particular item. That particular item was one of the things stolen, that was one of the reason Investigators interviewed the suspect, it paid off, the young man confessed.
Sheriff Montgomery credited Terri Byrd's observation of the young men as well as Chief Deputy Byrd and Investigator Payne not letting the case get cold for the reason it was solved.
Two of the suspects were here visiting for Thanksgiving and has since gone home to Texas, so Byrd and Payne are working with Prosecutor's Office to get them charged and brought back to Perry County. |
