Church fire is believed to be arson

Sometime between December 25 and December 28, 2013 persons unknown busted out a window on the north side of Grace Creek Missionary Baptist Church on highway 155 North in Casa, AR.  After busting the window out they threw something on fire inside of the church which landed on a pew and caught a cushion on fire.  There was extensive fire damage to the pew and some smoke damage to the church, the fire has been ruled an arson.

Investigator from Arkansas State Police was called in to make a determination of cause and origin and to collect samples for possible accelerants.  The fire Investigation is being led by Investigator Terry Payne of the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.  Any persons who seen anything suspicious around the church during that period are urged to contact the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.  A $2,000.00 reward is being offered for any information leading to an arrest and prosecution of person or persons involved.  All information will be kept confidential.
