Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Arrest

On January 23, 2016 at approximately 8:00 PM Deputy Ricky Jones and Deputy Denise Huber were working routine patrol on State Hwy 9 and State Hwy 324 when they made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a headlight out. When approaching the vehicle on the passenger’s side Deputy Huber observed the passenger Richard Ohlsen (35 years old, of Perryville, AR) concealing something in his hand and attempting to put the item under his seat. Deputy Huber asked Mr. Ohlsen what he had in his hand and he handed her a clear plastic bag containing white crystal substance (Methamphetamine or Ice).
Mr. Ohlsen was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony.
