Deputy Cathy Byrd was working routine patrol on March 16, 2016 around 11:15PM when she observed a vehicle travelling west on State HWY 216 with a tail light out. Deputy Byrd stopped the vehicle and the driver Cody O’Neal was driving without a driver’s license, also O’Neal had a warrant out of Conway County. While incident to arrest a pat down of his person Deputy Byrd found a bag of pills that were not in a prescribed pill bottle. Further inventory of the vehicle there was a black bag under the passenger’s seat that contained a clear bag of Ice (Methamphetamine), a syringe. In the back seat was a backpack with a set of weighing scales, plastic baggies, more used syringes, a spoon with methamphetamine on it, marijuana. Under the back seat was a pipe containing methamphetamines.
O’Neal was charged with a tail light out, driving on suspended license, five counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia. O’Neal is being held at the Perry County Detention Center on a $20,000.00 cash or professional bond.
