On January 24, 2017 at 1:30 Inv. Keenan Carter made a traffic stop on a passenger car driven by Melissa McAlister (40 yrs old, from Perryville) for driving erratic and touching the center line. McAlister gave consent to search and during the search a small glass container with what appeared to be marijuana residue in it was found on the driver’s side in the door panel. At that time a passenger in the vehicle, Dennis Hodge (30 yrs old, from Perryville) spontaneously stated that the glass container was his and that he picked it up at a friends and he had washed it out. Hodges stated that he was going to give it to McAlister because she like the glass. Mr. Hodge’s was arrested and charged with possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor.
After further search of the vehicle, McAlister had a $1072.00 that she couldn’t account for in a small zip type bag. She stated that she had withdrew the money to purchase a car but couldn’t produce a receipt from the withdrawal. McAlister couldn’t tell Inv. Carter how much money was in the bag, Hodge’s finally admitted the money was his and that it was his drug money. Inv. Carter seized the money, it will be processed thru the Prosecutor’s to be used for future drug ratification’s. |
