On June 11, 2017 while conducting a safety checkpoint on Underwood Road on Wye Mtn., Nicole Belk consented to a search of her vehicle. During the search of the vehicle passenger Megan Tygart, 29 yrs old of Little Rock grabbed a bag out of the backseat. Deputy Cathy Byrd was attempting to look in the bag when Tygart starting fighting with Deputy Byrd. Deputy Byrd was able to get her detained and in the bag was a stolen pistol from Conway.

Tygart was arrested and charged with Theft by Receiving (class D felony), Resisting Arrest, and Obstructing Government Operations. She is being held in the Perry County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
