On July 18, 2017 at approximately 1:00 PM Chief Deputy John Nichols and Sgt. Keenan Carter went to 70 Brooke Dr. to make contact with Steven Goodson. Upon arrival Deputies noticed another white male sitting on a tailgate with Mr. Goodson, later identified as Justin Wiley, 26 of Bigelow. An ACIC/NCIC check on Mr. Wiley was ran and found that he had warrants out of Conway County. As the Deputies went to arrest him they noticed a black backpack sitting beside him. Sgt. Carter asked him if the bag was his and he said no. Sgt. Carter asked him if he had any objection to him looking in the bag and Wiley said no. When Sgt. Carter looked in the backpack he located U.S. Mail that was addressed to Justin Wiley. Also in the backpack was a clear bag containing white crystal powder believed to be methamphetamines, a set of digital scales, and several small baggies that were empty. Also in the backpack was a gold hat badge belonging to a Lieutenant Arkansas State Police. Mr. Wiley made a spontaneous statement that all of those items belonged to him and stated that Mr. Goodson didn’t know anything about them.
Mr. Wiley was transported to the Perry County Detention Center. Wiley was charged with Possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a class C felony and Possession of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony. Wiley is being held on a $4,000.00 cash or professional bond. |
