On Monday November 20, 2017 at approximately 6:46 PM Perryville Police Officer Josh Cole received a phone call stating that a woman was walking north on the Fourche La Fave River bridge and that she was wet and seemed lost. Officer Cole responded as well as Deputies Bill Finley and Nick Kincade. After further investigation, the driver Chelsea Williams, 25 years old from Morrilton was intoxicated and was lost. Williams had made a wrong turn onto Cookie Rankin Road and drove into the Fourche La Fave River at the boat ramp.
Williams claimed that she had been raped and when she woke up, the car was in the river. Williams claimed that her assailant was still in the car that was in the river. Conway County Dive Team and Arkansas Game and Fish responded, no one else was found in the car or the river. Williams was taken by Liberty Ambulance to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Morrilton for further evaluation and to have a Rape test done. Williams was charged with DWI and released on her on recognize. The rape allegation is still under investigation. |
