New Release

Deputy Cathy Byrd was on routine patrol Sunday March 25, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM when she observed a 2000 Mercury Marquis traveling in a reckless manner (spun his tires and made his car turn sideways twice) as it was turning off of Hwy 113 and Hwy 60 East. Deputy Byrd stopped the vehicle at the Dollar General Store. The driver Michael Mitchell, 24 years old of Bigelow, was driving on a suspended driver’s license. Mitchell gave Deputy Byrd consent to search and told her that he had Marijuana in the ash tray, a search of the vehicle did reveal that there was Marijuana in the ash tray.

Mitchell was arrested and charged with reckless driving, possession of a controlled substance and driving on a suspended license. Mitchell is being held in the Perry County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
