On May 29, 2022, Deputies arrested Kane Hawks (23 years old) of Houston. Hawks fled from Deputies and led them on a high-speed pursuit through the Oak Grove community, the pursuit ended at a residence where children were playing in the yard. Hawks wrecked out at the residence and fled on foot; he was located hiding in a briar thicket and taken into custody without further incident. In the vehicle that he was driving a smoking device for methamphetamines was found along with approximately 105 grams of methamphetamines. The vehicle was Honda Accord displaying license plates off of a Suzuki Sidekick.
Hawks was charged with Felony fleeing, fleeing on foot, fictitious license plate, no insurance, reckless driving, criminal trespass, failure to register vehicle, careless or prohibited driving, disorderly conduct, and obstructing governmental operations; he is being held in the Perry County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
