PRESS RELEASE

On November 6, 2012 at approximately 12:35 PM I received information from a C.I. that Larry Collins was hiding Jacob Spann at his residence.  Jacob Spann was wanted out of Conway County for Aggravated Assault on Sheriff Mike Smith.

Upon arrival at Larry Collins’ residence I met with Larry Collins and advised him why I was there and I asked if Jacob had been there and he stated yes he was there that morning.  I then asked if I could search his R.V. next to his residence, he stated “yes”.  After gaining consent, Cpl. James Ault, Investigators John Nichols and Terry Payne along with Chief Deputy Cory Johnson surrended the permiter around the  R.V. and the residence.   Jacob was not in the R.V...  Cpl. Ault heard movement inside the residence, and Larry stated that there was no one else inside his trailer.  So then I asked Larry if I could search his residence and he stated “yes, you can search anywhere, I don't care".

Has Sgt. Edwin Johnson and I walked into the residence in plain view there was a marijuana cigarette laying on the coffee table as well as a white powdery substance in two clear plastic baggies.  On the kitchen table was numerous marijuana seeds.  As we walked through the residence there was numerous rifles in the 1st bedroom closet, in the second bedroom there was a mattress laying on the floor with two sawed off shotguns on top of the mattress.  Sgt. Edwin Johnson noticed that the mattress was humped up like someone was lying underneath the mattress.  I lifted the mattress and found Jacob Spann hiding.  Jacob Spann was arrested and transported to Conway County Detention Facility to face the charges he had there.
