PERRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARREST LOCAL MAN ON CHILD PORNOGRAPY
A parent and local teachers are responsible for aiding Chief Investigator John Nichols and Investigator Terry Payne to the arrest of John Graves Sr. for child pornography. After a parent observed him at a school function zooming in on little girls while they were bent over, the parent and Elementary Principal Heidi Wilson contacted Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Arkansas Crimes against Children Hot Line.
Inv. Nichols made contact with Mr. Graves at his home. Mr. Graves gave Investigator Nichols consent to search all three of his computers. Investigators Nichols and Payne found hundreds of pictures of child pornography on Graves’ laptop computers.
All materials have been sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for processing. Graves was arrested without incident. At present Graves has been charged with over 200 counts of possession of child pornography, with possible more charges to follow.
Sheriff Montgomery stated “thanks to the quick response of the parent, Principal Wilson and Investigators, this predator is off the streets”.
John Graves Sr. is being held in the Perry County Detention Center on a $200,000.00 cash or professional bond.
