Sheriff Montgomery reports that on June 5, 2013 Deputy Mike Surrett responded to a one vehicle accident in the Toad Suck area. Upon arrival Deputy Surrett made contact with Earnest Ruple, the owner of the property and the driver of the vehicle, Cody O’Neal.
Mr. Ruple told Deputy Surrett that O’Neal (27 yrs od) of Pleasant Valley was acting suspicious and that he tried to place two duffle bags on his front porch, Mr. Ruple stated that he told O’Neal to put the bags back in his vehicle. Deputy Surrett asked O’Neal consent to search the bags and O’Neal consented. Deputy Surrett found a syringe containing methamphetamines in one of the bags. Deputy Surrett arrested Cody O’Neal and charged him with possession of methamphetamines.
Cody O’Neal also is charged with theft of property as well; O’Neal stole Gary Long’s trailer from the Casa area and took it to Hasting’s in Ola and sold it for scrap metal. O’Neal is being held in the Perry County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 cash or professional bond.
